A post-Thanksgiving look back at the garden
I jazz I ’m a lilliputian late with this , but I require to take a moment to think about what I ’m grateful for in the garden this year . There is a lot to be grateful for when it come to industrial plant and the garden , but these are just a few that stood out to me for 2018 .
Air plant . They ’re a peck of fun ! I bonk they ’ve been voguish for a while , but this is the first class I really pose into them . This isTillandsia riohandoensis , and it has been a great , strange , easy houseplant for me all year long . ( Seemore air industrial plant . )
Narcissus pseudonarcissus ! I signify , add up on — how can you not be grateful for daffodils ? They are the ultimate celebration of the end of winter . ( See somerecommended definitive daffodil . )

seed ! I make love farm plants from seed . It is such an affordable way to get raft and lots of cool industrial plant for the garden . ( See ourcomplete guide to get seeds . )
Silliness . This photo is from a friend ’s garden , and it makes me laugh . I love a severely beautiful garden , but I ’m always thankful for a opportunity to have play and be a little silly as well .
prosperous , everyday bouquets . I know some rightfully gifted flower arrangers who make dramatic works of art out of cut efflorescence . But I ’m thankful that I can meander through my garden , at random cut back flowers , and finish up with something so beautiful that let me bring the joy of the garden into the house with me . ( check the best bloom for your cutting garden . )

Bearded irises ( Iris germanica , Zones 4–9 ) . Bearded irises are garden classic , but this yr I ’m really appreciating just how capital they are . They tolerate drouth beautifully and , with little more than some Sunday , produce abundant , velvety blush . This particular one is ‘ Red at Last ’ , and I just adore it .
