Sunday 9th June 2019 saw Walberton Nursery open up its threshold for the first prison term for LEAF Open Farm Sunday . As part of a co-op , although Walberton hosted the outcome , all of the Farplants Group squad help oneself in organising and campaign the day . A total of 35 volunteers from Binsted , Walberton , Fleurie and Toddington Nurseries , and Farplants sale mucked in to bake cakes , work as duty tour pathfinder , pot plant , serve refreshments , sell plants , welcome visitors and park elevator car . Organising the event , Walberton Manager Camilla said , “ It could n’t have gone better ! Sunday was wedged in between a twenty-four hour period of gale force winds , and another of torrential rain , but on the day the weather was consummate , and the feedback from members of the public was really positivist . I ’m really majestic of what we accomplish together and am very thankful for all the hard work and goodwill that went into the event from all the volunteers . presume I say it … .. I conceive we should do another .. ! ? ”

With more plant selling to staff in the days that followed , the total is now up to £ 725 . The ‘ Pot Your Own ’ stand was really democratic , particularly with nestling . Visitors could select a decorative pot or till , plus a few plants or herb , and pot the showing up themselves , giving a small contribution to Jacob’s ladder .
