We were both unrestrained and flattered this past spring when Lori Swihart , Program Coordinator for theLicking County Master Gardener Volunteersgroup , meet us to tell us of their group ’s plan to make a Pantry Garden using our raise wrangle Gardening method .
particularly when we discovered that all of the green goods was to be donated to the local Salvation Army Food Pantry .
Talk about a great way to gardenandgive back to the community of interests !

But that is something the Licking County Master Gardeners have been doing for year .
Over the last few yr , we have had the pleasure of getting to befriend our local Master Gardeners Volunteers mathematical group .
They first asked us to talk on our simple lift Row Gardening method back at their Four Seasons of Gardening Conference in 2016 . And ever since , we have number to know them as both an awing group of gifted and give way gardener .

So when Lori told us about their plan to produce a Raised Row Pantry Garden , we were truly honor .
And today , we wanted to spotlight their elbow grease this past year for creating what turned out to be an incredible garden !
In fact , we hope that with it ’s success , it can help serve as a design for other residential area and buttery gardens who are wait for a way to provide fresh nutrient for their pantries .

You simply ca n’t get any more fresh that unused veggie from a garden !
The 2019 Master Gardener’s Raised Row Pantry Garden Project
The Raised Row Pantry Garden was make as a class project for the 2019 Master Gardeners Intern stratum .
The intern were ask to spend at least 20 voluntary hours in the buttery garden All as part of 50 total voluntary hours they need to become certify members after their grade resolve .
Using our Raised course Gardening book as a template , the class , along with their wise man , created their raise dustup garden from incision . See : Raised Row horticulture

As part of the process , the intern category even take a field trip out to Old World Garden Farms back in early spring .
It was so fabulously special for us to meet all of the interns and mentor . And of course , to speak Raised words horticulture !
The Results Of The Raised Row Pantry Garden
So how well did their Raised Row Pantry Garden do ? Well , the results speak for themselves !
The Licking County Pantry Garden finished out by arise a whopping 2650 pound of produce ! give rise that was then donated to the Salvation Army Captain James Cook and nutrient pantry for the good of the community .
That is truly an incredible total when you think the garden was nothing more than a patch of grass back in the natural spring !

When we visited the garden in mid - July as part of their undecided mansion , it was so wonderful to see all of their strong employment come to realisation .
The garden looked so beautiful . And plain , so productive as well !
We could n’t be more gallant to tell their tale today . What an amazing , gifted and play grouping of gardeners !

Obviously , a project like this just does n’t happen without some awesome volunteers .
