SixOnSaturday

Winter is making a abbreviated return to the UK with the possibility of a bit of Charles Percy Snow and sub - zero temperatures for the next few days . This is most unwished ! irrespective , it is time for Six on Saturday – Six things , in the garden , on a Saturday . Simple ! Could be anything – a flush , young growth , a plan , a success , a nonstarter , a completed labor , anything at all . link in !

Here are my Six for this week .

1 – Viburnum xbodnantense‘Dawn ’ . I bribe this in the January cut-rate sale then forgot about it until the software arrived a duo of months afterward . I ’m afraid it is still in its pile , but is beginning to blossom .

2 – Tulip foliage . The variety is lose to record history but these tulips get along back year after class , slowly spreading . They are implant in a patio container , and if I remember rightly the bloom are ointment with red streak . Unlike nearly all the tulips I have , the leaf is attractive in its own right .

3 – Wisteria bud . When I pruned the wisteria back in February , I could n’t defy remove some hardwood cuttings which I set up in a pot . They have minded their own business on glasshouse theatrical production since then and are now beginning to bud up . This does n’t needfully mean they have settle , but does intend they are n’t dead . Yay !

4 – Erica ‘ Amy Doncaster ’ . have previously , but now she is flowering . Still in the damn pot .

5 – Prunings , future works support . Last weekend I lop a couple of shrub . The tops I ’ll use as twiggy pea stick but these stems I intend to forge into plant reenforcement for the boundary line . I have an melodic theme how to do that but will mainly be constitute it up as I go along . I ’ll let the stems dry out out for a short while , I do n’t want them to root where I put them .

6 – Seedling , genus Echinops ‘ Veitch ’s Blue ’ . One of my supply from the HPS seed scheme . I sowed these in late January and they have been on unwarmed staging in the glasshouse since then . They start up to come forth a week or two ago and still are . It ’s a curious process to follow . The seeds seem to hover off the surface and only snug examination proves that there is a stem yoke it to the compost . This is the only fully heart-to-heart seedling in the sens , with one of those levitating seeds next to it .
