So who should I spot aright away but these titans of the industrial plant world greet each other like the honest-to-goodness brother we know them to be . That’sDr . Michael Dirron the left withDr . Allan Armitage , both of the University of Georgia .

What followed was the taking of lots of posed photos like this one , but the one IwishI’d perplex admit a guy I later learn was UGACoach Vince Dooley , who ’s far-famed for his garden .
I visited Carolyn Mullet and herCarex Toursbooth to chat a bit and give me an excuse to recommend her European garden go with their emphasis on great design .
I stopped here to postulate the succulent expert how to keep alive the succulent houseplants I got for Christmas , which are have already . More on that in an upcoming post .

I have recycled Adirondack death chair like these in a wonderful colouration and was pleased to see all form of other furniture options now available in similar materials and colors . They last a life with no maintenance and are comfy .

( If you ’ve take care a book store lately and they have a horticulture section at all , it ’s probably filling up with pot - raise book . )

At the largeKnock Out Rosebooth I asked a bunch of questions about roseate rosette disease and will be post about the answers shortly .

The National Arboretum booth was a lamentable reminder of the political violent storm brewing in nearby D.C. It ’s closed for the shutdown , with onlyfriends - groupvolunteers available to man the booth .
Lots of garden - communicator brother were stopping at theGardenCommbooth ( formerly Garden Writers ) to greet president Becky Heath and let her utter them into speaking on camera about the organization . Here ’s Pat Stone ofGreensprints Magazinestepping up to the challenge .
This Halloween - load down booth was one of many sell nonplant - related STUFF that ’s so important to the business organisation of independent garden centers .

So what ’s missing from this pic - packed post ? Shots of the vast majority ( mayhap 98 % ) of the booths that trade products of no interest or relevance to home gardener at all . This show is for the trade wind , not us . So I just breeze by all the glasshouse irrigation system and the dozen of Christmas tree diagram growers and made it home before dark .
