Today ’s photo is from Kerry Michaels in Freeport , Maine . She says : “ This poppy is in my garden and it ’s surrounded by recurrent geraniums and Japanese natural spring grass , which sounds kind of awful , but is in reality endearing . The poppies flower in June and look astonishing against the hopeful park of the green goddess and the grim / purpleness of the geranium flowers . I am whole smitten with these poppy , in fact , I like I had a field of them , instead of just two works . After the poppy blossoms have fall off , the seed pods are as interesting as the flower . The pods are blue - green and look like foreign , otherworldly orbs that look great against the orange / red of the helenium , ‘ Mardi Gras , ’ that flower right behind them . ”Thanks for send in your exposure , Kerry !
