Lynn Crawford is share some of her favourite bloom from her garden with us today .

I have been an avid gardener for more than 60 yr . My female parent , Charlotte , and my Uncle Vincent were esurient gardeners and capital teachers . My pursuit and curiosity continue to spread out along with my old age : 73 years young . I reside in Malvern , Pennsylvania , and have lived in my present place for more than 42 years . The gardens are mature but are ever interchange , some by pattern and others by uncontrolled factors .

As a member of Four Counties Garden Club , the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society , and the Garden Club of America , I have enjoyed exhibiting and offer at the Philadelphia Flower Show for a number of years . I retired from a 34 - twelvemonth calling in education and make out the Penn State Master Gardener Program . Presently I offer in the horticultural therapy program at Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital .

My garden give me slap-up joy , yet I often jokingly say that I have a love / hate relationship with it . It is incredibly beautiful , but it requires continual upkeep . Spring has been especially beautiful this class , with daffodil , tulip ( my favorite prime ) , cornel , Viburnum , azalea , rhododendrons , and paeony . paeony have three common types : herbaceous , Itoh , and tree . Tree peony are incredibly beautiful , with with child , tissue paper - paper - comparable flowers in terrific people of color that usually bloom early on in the time of year .

A opinion of Lynn ’s garden . Lynn mentions a love life / hate relationship with the garden , but all I see here is a mint to love !

It ’s not unvoiced to see why Lynn loves peonies so much ! This is a tree peony , a type that has woody stems and large flowers and that usually blooms a little earlier than its herbaceous cousins .

Though many of the most vulgar peony are twice flower , with layers and level of petal , this single form is stunningly beautiful . The single - flowered variety also tend to fend up better without staking .

All peonies look unbelievable in a vase .

Another tree diagram peony . This look like it might be ‘ High Noon ’ .
