Seed bombs are easy-to-make and allow you to “throw” away your seeds.

seeded player bombs ( a.k.a . “ seed balls ” or “ ejaculate grenade ” ) are essentially seeds contained in a ball of clay , normally miscellaneous with some case of compost , and place to dry out . They originated in Japan in the 1940s , and were used extensively by “ guerrilla gardeners ” in the 1970s . The seeds are spread by being switch ( like a grenade ) , into an country lacking flora or otherwise . With the correct conditions , the seeds sprout and hopefully develop into plants . For the purpose of this clause , I am only focusing on how to make the seed bomb itself .

  • Note : Dry clay can be find at clayware or ceramic provision computer storage , or ordered online . It does not have to be red , but it seems red is a popular colour . I had NO luck finding ironical clay in my local Falco subbuteo / craft , artwork supplying or ironware store , so I had to practice the moist “ zephyr dry ” clay .

    • banknote : Using gravid seeds can make it more hard to roll uniformly - shaped seed bombs , so you may need to try smaller - sized seeds first .

1 . Set the parts of the ‘ formula ’ out in bowl or other container :

• 5 parts juiceless red clay• 2 - 3 parts dry organic compost• 1 part seeds• 1 - 2 part water

2 . desegregate the teetotal clay , compost , and seeds together .

3 . Add water to the commixture very gradually ( a drop at a time ) . You do n’t need the motley to be so dampish that it becomes muddy and difficult to take shape .

4 . Knead the mix with your men until the right consistency is achieved . It should be the consistence of cookie cabbage . If you are using the moist air ironical clay , you would simply blend it with the compost and seed at this point .

5 . Roll dower of the admixture into pocket-size to average - sized ball , like you would for making cookies . They should be small enough to fit into the palm of your hand .

6 . Set the seed bomb out in a wry location for at least a day or two , depend on the size of the bombs . They will dry out quicker if set out in the sun .

You are essentially done with your bomb make at this point . you could either hive away the bombs for later use , or ‘ commence bombing ’ right aside .
