The key to a double-dyed pizza all starts with make a super tenuous crust . The thin incrustation makes it easy for the heat of the oven to bake both the gelt and the topping quickly . We learned early on that putting too many toppings on is an sluttish way for nonstarter .
The pizza dough formula is uncomplicated . It all starts with just 5 simple ingredients . piss , flour , common salt , yeast and a bit of olive oil . We let the loot seat for about an minute to rise , and then roll up out thin 8 to 10″ pizza pie crusts .
The wood pattern we used to build up the pizza pie oven

The wood form we used to build the pizza oven
To start up , we build a small fire in the front middle section of the oven . This is the spot where the pizza pie will finally cook .
By building the flak here , the bricks below preheat quickly . Once the attack is move steady for about 40 arcminute , we push the log to the back of the oven .
Once the fire is in the back portion of the oven , we wipe down the middle oven bricks with a dampish cloth on a marijuana cigarette . At this decimal point the flame just take to be feed equally .

We put in just a few small split log at a meter to keep the oven raging . It is critical to have full teetotal wood for gamey heat . Hickory and oak are the two we expend with really good results .
Building the oven charter awhile , but it was deserving it !
After an hour of full pre - heat time , its time to make pizza ! Before we slide in the clams , we splash Indian meal onto the oven surface . The corn repast form beautifully to keep the scratch from dumbfound to the brick .

Building the oven took awhile, but it was worth it!
We then pop sliding the first pizza Earth’s crust off a long wooden board into the center of the oven . I actually buy a few longpizza paddlesto just “ look ” authentic .
But after the first time sliding a pizza into 700 degree of heat , I realized they were really needed ! Once the high mallow melts and the ardor facing edge of the lettuce begins to tenuous char , we use the pizza paddles to twist around the pizza for two more min and it ’s done !
We can usually have two 8″ pizza pie pie in at once . As one is rotated , we put the next in to start . It is amazing how quick they can be consumed ! 🙂 Product Links : Wooden Pizza Paddle – Stone Ground Cornmeal

So how severely was it build the wood fire pizza oven ?
All in all , it was really more of a fight of patience than anything . The process merely ca n’t be rushed . We embark on by pouring a 4 in footer for the base . From there , we laid inexpensive concrete pulley-block to form the groundwork for the oven .
Once that was stark , we create a curved course from old spline of wood . It allowed us to put the fire brick and mortar into the dome shape needed .
After the brick were position , we then applied two coats of castables to the out surface . Castables assist to isolate the intact oven .
Once the oven was double-dyed , we then fired it up to incinerate out the wooden template . This outgrowth also helped to bring around the castables . It may have been a minute clock time - consuming and labor intensive to progress , but it has been incredible to share pizza nights with so many .
