Glass Gem corn 6
I plant some Glass Gem corn seed this year from Native Seed Search in AZ and grew them out . For the last 3 years I ’ve tried to buy this seed but it was always sold out so I was excited to assay them this year . The range of colors is unbelievable . Opening each ear of corn whiskey was like Christmas because you would n’t know what colour would be inside . Many of the colors appear like footling glass pearls hence the name and some count less pearlized butallare stunningly beautiful . An interesting tone is I observe in the packet that some seed had color and other seeds less color and it did n’t seem to matter when they grew out but maybe that ’s because no one has seek to isolate particular colors yet .
I know the seeds are thoroughgoing because I did n’t grow any other corn this class and all my neighbour do n’t have any vegetable gardens for wind mark - pollenation . I am economise the seeds and will sell them by the color next natural spring . Of course there is no guarantee that each kernel of Zea mays will even give rise its particular color because of its alone genetics ( just because you have blue eyes does n’t mean you will grow a child with downcast eyes - it bet on your genetics and the one you mated with ) . I ’ll let you sleep together next spring how you may purchase some of them .

I ’m going to take my favorite colors next class and replant the seeds and mark them to see if they originate back out to that colouring material . large labor for a Master Gardener , do n’t you think ? Of of course I ’ll have to isolate them or fussy - pollenation will happen for certain . I might call upon a few of my gardener ally to grow one picky color in their garden with no other Zea mays - growing there to see what happens . This will be an interesting endeavor .
There were 15 different color combination with some produce very circumscribed coloring material due to just a few ear cause those colour and some have a mess of auricle with a particular color combo . Some I wo n’t even trade because there are n’t a lot of seeds with a particular color . So here are the colors . Check out these knockout !
