Hi GPODers !
About a month ago , we took a trip across the pond with Cindy Strickland toSissinghurst Castle Gardenin Kent , UK . While I was compiling the assets and writing up that post , I stumbled upon another meekness from Cindy that for some reason ended up in the GPOD spam booklet . While the reflection on these glorious summertime blooms is number a small afterward than mean , I did n’t desire these colorful photograph to go to waste and Cindy gave the O.K. to apportion her 2023 annual flower display , today .
Hello , Cindy Strickland here , sharing some preferred summer tantrum of a small but chubby triangular side garden that meet afternoon sunshine . I rented the mostly shaded property for two years adding all the plants within the existing border . For 2023 , I wanted this little area to be full of a variety show of flower and foliage that I could see from the kitchen windows . The sidewalk was also used as a cut through by neighbour , so other citizenry enjoyed the plant . I envision many shuttle and dirt ball visit the garden including a full variety of bee .

By July , the first affluent ofcoreopsisflowers had about ended , several yearbook grown from seed had bloomed , and to keep the look full , I had dropped in some pots of yearly .
Hardy ‘ Nana ’ coreopsis(Coreopsis auriculata‘Nana ’ , Zones 4–9)made a pleasing combination with catmint(Nepetaspp . and cvs . , Zones 3–9 ) – for a while . A acquaintance who is a landscapist laughed when I said my catmint usually die .
Many insects and long - legged arthropod enjoyed the Borago officinalis blooms . Myborage(Borago officinalis , annual)sprawled and eventually flop or was staked and thinned . Birds ate almost all the seeds .

Borage near up .
‘ Nana ’ tickweed is a tough gnome form that did not listen being divided in the centre of summertime .
Calibrachoa , a pop annual .

Cosmosbloomed as catmint wane .
Tough perennialsedumwhich was divided in the previous fall , surrounds , and apparently protect a sunflower seed which went unnoticed by the birdie .
atomic number 79 yellowzinniawere resistless to goldfinch !

Lemon thyme(Thymus×citriodorus , Zones 5–8)in pot has a lovely track use and when tweak consecrate off a gorgeous scent .
I was lucky enough to findtall verbena(Verbena bonariensis , zone 7–10)seedlings for sale last spring and planted a lot in various areas including in this little garden . The flowers were attraction for hummingbird and butterfly stroke . The stem which grew over four invertebrate foot magniloquent , did not break during strong farting .
Rose turtlehead(Cheloneobliqua , Zones 5–9)was one of the last perennial to blossom . Cosmic Orange cosmos(Cosmos sulphureus‘Cosmic Orange ’ , annual)was probably the last annual to efflorescence ( in upper right in this exposure ) . However , it was one of the easiest flower seeds to gather and grow .

give thanks you , Cindy , for admit me to revive this compliance lose to the Baroness Dudevant of Microsoft Outlook ! While I wish we did n’t have to wait so long , late is better than never when it comes to this gorgeous accumulation of cheerful flowers .
