In the last few eld , design ideas at the Show have tended to illustrate our reluctance to depend forward when it comes to garden design – a sort of corporate gardening nostalgia . Still , it ’s worth look closely at the details . This is where ideas are found .
Plant combination , colours , economic consumption of stuff , container choices , individual feature – something will invariably catch the optic . This is where cameras come out – it ’s usually impossible to take picture of whole gardens amongst the crowds – and pluck upplant lists , mark the ones that interest you , or jot down notes . One of this year ’s gardens at Chelsea will be a creation using small alpine and shade - loving plants with a stream water feature . Another , by the renowned modern-day designer Christopher Bradley - Hole , will see the human relationship between the lifelike earth and the delineation of naturalplant or landscape painting features in gardens . Yet another will be dominated by spectacular modernistic carving and weewee . So , whether you are face for planting idea , thought - provoking bionomics statements , or an architectural spectacular , there will be a feast of ideas on show .
And it ’s not only the showgardens that can give you intake . Garden design for lots of mass is about group plant life and the way the different nurseries do this on their stands in Chelsea and elsewhere furnish a terrific lesson . you could see how much difference of opinion grouping plants by their height , shape and leaf colour makes when it is done well , and this really is something you could easily procreate at home .
