I ’ve loved interesting industrial plant since I was small , growing plants in my mother ’s garden and killingorchidsfrom the yearly orchid show . I ’ve worked in the horticulture manufacture several times , and I ’ve spring up plant on my own whenever I had the resource . Last year I was given the chance to take over one of the coolest garden in thePacific Northwest , the house of Lance Wright , formerly a Portland Parks Bureau horticulturist for three decennium . Now I have a home where the jungle extends from my bedroom to the street , with more diverseness than somebotanical garden .

The most iconic of the carnivorous plants is Venus flytrap ( Dionaeamuscipula‘DCXL ’ , Zones 7–10 ) . This natural selection has unusually enceinte and beautifully pattern maw .
This is a collection oflithops(aka live on rocks ) , tinysucculent plantswith leaves that store piss and mime the tone of stones to avoid being eaten . To avoid block the epithet of the kind , Zeah made a diagram of what is planted where , using the crack at the bottom of the pot as a reference point . That ’s a great way to keep course of what plant is what without having to add footling label everywhere .

An enormous sales booth ofMusasikkamensis(Zones 7–10 , maybe cold with aegis ) . lend a thick layer of leaves or other protection in the winter helps plants like theseoverwinterin moth-eaten zones .
